In 1983 the „Verein zur Förderung der Werkkunstschule e.V.“ (association for promoting the Flensburg Arts and Crafts School) was founded. In 2012 it was re-named „Die Flensburger - Förderverein der Fachschule für Technik und Gestaltung e.V.“ Objective is the support and sponsoring of students of the FSTUG, which itself is regarded as an important training institute to the German economy.
